Janice started at The Coffee Shop, a job training program of St. Martin’s, in mid-December of 2015. Within 2 weeks she learned the menu, recipes and procedures. She had restaurant experience before entering homelessness and became the lead intern in February. She has assisted with the training of new interns and the creation of new menu items. She is definitely someone that you can rely on to ensure the shop is running smoothly.

As her graduation time approached she was struggling with finding employment. She had been on numerous interviews and constantly turned in employment applications. She finally secured a job at Denney’s. On her first shift, she re-organized the dish room, did deep cleaning projects, all while doing her normal duties.  Her managers recognized her effort and praised her.

Friday was Janice’s last day at The Coffee Shop.  She has secured full time employment and her future is looking bright.
