Want to help serve those most in need in our community?  If you have a few hours free during the week, St. Martin’s Hope Works would love to work with you in our Day Shelter.

St. Martin’s Hope Works serves a daily average of 350 men, women and children in its Day Shelter.  Due to the high volume of services we provide each day, we always have rewarding volunteer opportunities available for people interested and able to serve.

St. Martin’s Hope Works has volunteer opportunities Monday through Saturday.

KitchenGetting started is easy!  Contact our Volunteer Coordinator to schedule a day and shift time, then complete this online application or fill out an application in person during your first day of service.  Volunteer once a week, or once a year – we’re flexible!  If you have a community service project, call us first; we can accommodate groups ranging in size from 5 to 15 with advance notice.  St. Martin’s Hope Works welcomes energetic, compassionate volunteers of all ages; however we do require parental permission and chaperoning of all minors.

Volunteers are assigned to one of the following Day Shelter stations: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Shower Station, Clothing Room, Mail Room, and Long-Term Storage.  Tasks include serving food, sorting and distributing supplies to clients, organizing materials, computer data entry, and light clean-up.  We can accommodate all abilities, and assign tasks accordingly.

St. Martin’s Hope Works is located at 1201 Third Street NW.  Look for a two-story, white building with a turquoise staircase.  Enter on the ground floor, and check in at the front desk.
